Photoshop

Wow guys, been so crazy busy with Photoshop, I've had a lot of fun so far with it. I got a lot of stuff that I think is pretty cool done up. I have a few minutes here before lunch break ends to show you.

Photoshop

Today we started part of the course that I was really excited for, Photoshop =D. With cracked rib painfully in place I'm excited to start learning some new techniques to get good at photoshop, something I've failed to do in the past xD. So wish me luck as break is almost over and we'll be heading into the actual meat of the class for today fairly soon.

Sorry about not posting yesterday, we're into Marketing 101 so I've been a little busy with the classes. It's been pretty interesting and I'm lelarning a lot of cool stuff about advertisements and advertising effectively (lots of it is common sense but there is some stuff I'm learning). So it's going to be a short post again, I'll catch you later webz, have fun!

This week ends today and that means that John Semchuk (our current instructor) is finished up with us, next week the hard stuff will start (ie each day will be a new instructor and subject matter. I'm really excited for the ten day course in Photoshop that we have coming up honestly, partially cause I like photo manipulation (despite being terrible at it) and partially because this program has been pissing me right off >.<. The little nuiances and nuisances existing in the program are frustrating to absolutely no end!

Anyway yesterday and today were spent on a long project which is complete in both paper and imagery. I'll show you guys the outcome of the work and writeups though, to save you 'study material' if you will. Remember these are images to function as design and layout planning for eventual websites, these are not the functional sites.

Whoo!

This is a quick post guys since class is technically still in session. I just finished a picture edit I was working on the last few days. It's not professional or anything but let me know what you think!

Can't spot the differences? Then you're dumb. No seriously though. Obviously the background is black and white in the second one, with some highlights in color to draw your eye to the action. What you may not have noticed was the glow added to the Elites sword and eyes/armor highlights. The Plasma pistol in the Grunts hand had a little glow added as well.

Whew

Well it's day three and classes are still pretty good. I've advanced my project site a fair bit from the original and it's looking a lot better with some minor textures and a better color scheme. Infact I've included an image which you can find here. Now I know it's not the most amazing work ever done, infact most of my classmates have already developed far more exciting, enticing and visually appealing websites. Let's keep in mind I have no artistic talent, and am approaching this with no experience of this sort, and trying to build up in a course intended for people with this kind of experience.

I know it's a short post, but wish me luck guys, I'm back to class now lunch break is nearly over.

Day 2

Sorry I haven't posted in quite a long time, I had a busy weekend (aka getting absolutely wasted). It was a lot of fun too, I got to catch up with Yoseph and Eric as well as my brother and cousins. Most of the people planned to come never ended up showing, but it just meant more for us. The night was spent drinking dangerous amounts, playing video games (little of which I recall, though apparantly at a point I mistook Halo 3 for Modern Warfare 2). After the weekend was a tired drive home Sunday afternoon, and a sleepless night. I got 0 hours of sleep before Monday, which wasn't good because I started school on Monday. However I did alright, I got pretty close to passing out a few times during class, and I think the teacher noticed as well, though he didn't say anything. I managed to keep awake and generally alert, and learned a fair bit for the starting day. We covered some basics of layout and planning websites, and I'm so far enjoying day 2 equally as much. We're about to start up colors (the first week here is the basics of setting up, planning and preparing to create a website). I'm writing to you guys on my coffee, so if you don't mind I'll be off to finish enjoying my coffee break, and resume working on a personal project. Take it easy and enjoy your web-tastic day.

Hair cut!

Hey guys, so I'm up at 4:48 Am slept from about 5:30P yesterday until now. I had a long day, had to get my first book for college, 41 dollars, a parking slip, 100 dollars, a parking ticket I received while doing this, 30 bucks. Fun stuff, and I can't get my student loan probably for a while still which really sucks.

So I'm currently officially broke and such. Also very thirsty atm, which is odd I've had lots to drink.

Anyway interwebs, I also got a hair cut so I'm all like :D my hair is much shorter now (by much I mean a little). Take it easy net and enjoy todays feature!

Yipee

It is officially 6:30 AM and I am about to go to bed. I work at 5 PM and won't be waking up until 4 if everything works out okay. The pain in my mouth is finally subsiding and I'm sharp enough off the painkillers again to concentrate on things, which is cool.

So I start school here on March 22nd. I will be taking for those of you whom don't know, a course at the Red Deer College on Multimedia Web Design. It's a five month course, 8 hour a day five day a week deal. We learn things ranging from basic PHP, HTML, XML etc, to the more design side of web building ie logo design, flash programming etc.

I'm pretty excited and have decided to celebrate my excitement on the last weekend I have free from school. On March 19 (after my 9 AM meeting and orientation for the course) I will be driving back to my brothers place with a friend and my cousin Tristan to meet up with my brother and some other friends.

Sleepless

Blarrgh It's now 5 AM for me and I just can't sleep. I need to be up at 2:30 for a dental appointment (Yay more :D) so I can have a permanent filling put in to replace the temporary filling that is currently in my recently nerve-neutered tooth. The temp is already wearing out, but the swelling in my gums has gone down. It still hurts when any pressure hits them, but I can drink frozen drinks like slushes and Booster Juice now which helps with the pain. Hooray Cameron :D

I didn't know what else to do, so I thought I'd update you on my fascinating life.

Today was a boring day. Work was just ew and took way too long to pass by. Despite the fact we had nothing (literally, I'd completed all the tasks for the day) to do, our supervisor kept pestering us and wouldn't let us chat, even when we were doing work as well. So basically I stood in my department looking like a moron all day. I did get a video that cheered me up from OliverScott a youtube member I'm subscribed to (I think he's subscribed to me as well).

Another Achin Day

So today isn't turning out much better than yesterday. Last night the gum around the freshly jabbed poked and stabbed tooth started to swell really badly. I took some Motrin (again, though not too much this time) as an anti-inflammatory and it's helped some, though the gum is still swollen and extremely tender.

To add to that my dad is being a bit of a prick and won't let me just sleep, which is of course the only time the tooth area isn't aching. Oh well, perhaps tomorrow? Nah. Tomorrows Saturday. He will be off work.

Took today off work due to the pain, which sucks I still need the hours for the money >.<

First

That's right, I've made the first post ever on this blog. I win all the internets. Hahahah! You all lose the internets, to me. Indeed. Quite so. Live with it.

So anyway I have decided to start up a personal blog. I tried to do this years ago and never really followed through with it so hopefully this time will be different than the last. I rather enjoy writing and hope that this blog will function as a good outlet for my love to do this.

I suppose the best way to start of this blog would be  with the events of today. I spent the entire night flitting into few minute bursts of sleep, interrupted by a flared and infected sore tooth that I had drilled out to begin a root canal some time ago.  Clearly I myself didn't actually dig out the tooth myself, I am referring to a dentist who did it. A thin layer of filling was all that separated the nerve from the air. Every breath with air too cold or too damp set it off.

I'm going to be honest I was in a lot of pain. I took far more Motrin than anyone should take. I took at least 6 or so 400mg Motrin tablets and about 4 300mg tablets in a period of six or so hours. Not. Healthy.


So today with almost no sleep and practically passing out I sat with my jaw creaked open for over an hour to have the root canal finished. The bleeding nerve prevented completion and has left me with a finished root canal without the reconstructed tooth, again only a layer of filling. Thankfully though the nerve is gone and with it, the pain.

The worst part for me? 14 stabs with the freezing needle to get me numb. I still felt the end of the process.
